Before you bring your horse to Pony Club , you are required do a number of things:

  • You must obtain a HORSE HEALTH CERTIFICATE proving that your horse is immune to EI because it has either had the virus or has been vaccinated against it. A copy of the Horse Health Certificate must be supplied with your Membership renewal or New Member Application.

NO CERTIFICATE – NO ENTRY

  • You must have a TRAVELLING HORSE STATEMENT (THS) before you move your horse from your property. The THS is obtained on line from the DPI website. Two copies must be printed off. One is given to a PC official at the rally day or event and one is retained by you and kept with the  ider/horse at all times and must be produced on request. DPI staff may attend rally days at random and request to see all documentation concerning your horse.

NO THS – NO ENTRY

  • Ensure your horse is well. Do not come to pony club if your horse appears sick or off colour.
  • Bring your own feed, buckets and equipment and don’t share anything with other horses or riders.
  • Wash your hands regularly. Don’t touch other horses and don’t let people touch yours.
  • Advise the Senior Instructor or a member of the committee if your horse shows any signs of being unwell.
